The Colors of Fall Jewelry

Beautiful citrine and sterling silver ring, Garbrielle Bruni

We’ve come to that time of year when the leaves start turning colors, the evenings get chilly and we start bundling up. As the landscape changes we generally start to change our wardrobe. We start leaning toward brown, marigold, orange and reds. These are the colors of fall and they are colors that are present in jewelry.

Go for a red or burgundy lipstick

Gemstones of various colors are the easiest to emulate when the season turns to fall. Gemstones like garnet, citrine and smokey quartz all have fall colors in mind. These colors also go well with our clothes as we bundle up for fall. One of my favorite colors as the season turns is deep burgundy. You see it on the runways, tweed skirts and jacket worn with deep burgundy accessories. I love the color in a handbag or a lipstick, it really says fall to me.

Love these reds

While burgundy can say fall and garnets are a wonderful burgundy color, they can be a little pricey. Another more affordable fall colored jewelry is amber. Amber has wonderful fall colors, yellow, and red and of course browns. Amber is natural and can be shaped into any number of styles from necklaces and earrings made of beads to beautiful faceted shapes that catch the light.

Amber is soft so it is best worn as earrings and necklaces. It can be set in a ring or made into an eye catching bracelet but it may not do well when bumped against a hard surface which can happen from time to time with jewelry located on or near our hands. So when you’re looking to introduce some fall colors into your wardrobe think jewelry. There are a lot of options out there and those options are usually pretty wonderful to wear.
