We all want to look like Audrey Hepburn in Capri pants
From time to time we are all caught making a fashion mistake. Sometimes it’s accidental; we were just running out to get some ice cream and didn’t think we would see anyone we know. Other times we think we’re actually putting together something awesome that turns out upon further review to be anything but awesome. Unfortunately, there are some fashion mistakes that we see over and over again.
I have to agree with Tim Gunn when he says that Capri pants are not flattering. Other than little Audrey Hepburn, I’ve yet to see a pair on someone older than fourteen and they looked good. This is especially noticeable on women in their 50s and 60s who are all of five foot two. Apparently Capri pants end right at the largest part of our calves so they emphasize the width of our legs. Then they visually cut off our legs making them look stumpy. Not a good look.
Even this athletic body looks stumpy
Most women want to look as slim as possible and anything that makes us look short and dumpy is a fashion mistake. I’ve tried Capri pants and while I do have slim legs I just never felt that it looked good. Now I know why. Another fashion mistake is the ankle length skirt. These will make us look dowdy. They not only add pounds but years, a double whammy.
I’ve tried the ankle length skirt a few times and it has never worked out for me. It makes my midsection look bulky and hides my assets, my legs. I’ve tried it with boots and a longer length jacket but just end up looking out of proportion. I end up swimming in fabric. So while I’ve never been fond of these looks I never knew why. Thanks Tim Gunn for pointing out the specifics of these fashion mistakes, I will take your advice.
