The Black Leather Jacket

Very similar to my favorite except a hair longer at the hem

One of the best purchases I ever made was a black leather jacket. It has a collar, two slit pockets and a zipper. It’s not too short and doesn’t have elastic around the bottom. It’s a true blazer style leather jacket with just a touch of biker. While a leather jacket is cool, it sometimes doesn’t have the right amount of warmth to wear in the dead of winter, or on rainy days. I want it to last, I did spend a lot of money on this jacket and it has held up really well over the years. Since it’s a classic style I’ve been able to wear it for a long time.

Now that the weather is turning a little bit warmer, it’s time to break out the leather jacket. It’s a great transitional piece from winter to spring. If it’s still coldish out, try it with a scarf and some boots and of course your jeans. If the weather is looking up but there is still a slight chill in the air, those jean will look hot with some sandals and just wear a tank under the leather jacket. You can toughen up a frilly sundress with a leather jacket and it’s the perfect piece to wear when going out to party. Like I said, I love my leather jacket but there is only one problem. I would have loved to find this exact same jacket in brown.

 Super modern

I’ve owned this black leather jacket forever. It is something that I wear frequently and enjoy. It’s part of my basic wardrobe, but I never found it in brown. I like to switch back and forth from black as the basic color to brown. This is a concept my husband has a hard time grasping. He always asks why do you need the same handbag or shoes in another color, they’re exactly the same. I don’t explain, I just tell him “that’s fashion” and leave it at that because they aren’t exactly the same. Women know this concept and for some reason if you don’t understand, you never will. It’s like trying to understand quantum physics, either you do or you don’t.

So if the sun stays out today and while there is still a chill in the air, leather is a good choice. So maybe I’ll break out the leather jacket for running my errands. It’s stylish and looks great with jeans and boots. Someday maybe I’ll find this exact same jacket in a dark brown, but until then, I’m wearing black. Besides black leather jackets are cool and who doesn’t want to look cool? A black leather jacket always makes me feel a little more stylish and chic and if I can fake that for a day, it’s all good.
